11/2/2011 | Thomson introduces all new version of its web-based sizing tool

WOLFSCHLUGEN, GERMANY – Innovative linear motion and guidance systems supplier Thomson has launched a new version of Linear MOTIONEERING®, the company’s powerful, free of charge web-based sizing and selection tool. Linear MOTIONEERING® calculates safety factors that help direct customers to an optimised linear motion system for their machine in just minutes by entering a few key application parameters.

The new version includes a number of market leading innovations to simplify this process even further. A new sort and filter feature allows users to organise all the solutions that fit their individual requirements quickly and easily, while an upgraded graphics and user-interface makes it easier to get to preferred solutions. The revised version also now includes global product offerings from Thomson such as its linear units. Outputs include application parameters such as linear bearing load/life, ball screw critical speed, specific movement profiles and radial/axial forces. The tool then produces a set of product solutions tailored precisely to the application requirements. Once a product solution is selected, a wide assortment of accessories, motors and motor mounts can be selected. In addition to this, the program offers interactive 3D models, list prices, delivery times and ordering information.

Also available on the website are the new and improved interactive 3D models offering a three-dimensional representation of every Thomson product, which can be observed from all angles. The dimensions and all other essential data are also displayed. Graphics can be downloaded in all common image and CAD formats.
